AP Free Gas Cylinder Scheme under Deepam 2.0
Deepam 2.0 was operationalised by the chief minister Shri Chandrababu Naidu recently on November 1, 2024. During the launch, he personally ceded a gas cylinder to a beneficiary and also lit her stove. This is a welcome step in the women empowerment drive of the Andhra Pradesh government. The AP Free Gas Cylinder Scheme is one of those promises that were made by the TDP before the Assembly Election 2024. Now the newly formed government is all set to fulfil its promises. Distribution of free gas cylinders under the scheme will be done in collaboration with the petroleum agencies. Eligible beneficiaries can submit their application through the designated MeeSeva franchises.

Objectives of AP Free Gas Cylinder scheme 2024
This is a women’s support scheme that aims to provide free gas cylinders to women from BPL families. The initiative will reduce the financial burden on these families, and they will easily adopt LPG cylinders for domestic cooking. In rural areas of the state, there are still numerous families using traditional cooking methods by utilising firewood. This scheme will encourage those families to switch to cleaner cooking fuels such as liquid petroleum gas (LPG). This will not only protect such families from the side effects of using conventional cooking fuels but also save lots of time in cooking. The financial burden to purchase the cooking LPG cylinder would also reduce for such families, and their living conditions would improve.

Free Gas Booking Date
This scheme, Deepam 2.0, is open for application, and eligible citizens can book free cylinders before March 2024. Initially, it started on the 30th of October 2024. In each cycle of four months, one free cylinder will be delivered to each beneficiary. For the first such cycle, the application is already started, and one can submit the application online to book a free LPG gas cylinder under the AP Free Gas Cylinder Scheme.
AP Free Gas Cylinder Scheme Online Apply
Eligible women can submit their application online through the proper channel. The process requires the following steps to be taken by the applicants in order to submit the application and receive the scheme benefit from the AP Free Gas Cylinder Scheme 2024.
- Visit the nearest MeeSeva Kendra along with your Aadhar Card and Ration Card.
- Ask the operator to fill out the application form for the AP Free Gas Cylinder.
- The operator will take the necessary action and proceed with application filling.
- The operator will then make online entry of your personal details, address, family details, bank account details, etc.
- Then thereafter, your documents will be scanned and uploaded in the said file type and size.
- Once the above steps are done, your application will be finally submitted.
- Do not forget to get the acknowledgement receipt from the MeeSeva Kendra operator.
- Submitted applications will get approval at the Mandal Revenue Office.
- It will also get approval from the concerned gas agency and from the district supply officer.
- Once all formalities are done, you will start receiving the scheme benefit.
- Every four months, an LPG cooking cylinder will be delivered to you free of charge.
