Launch of Chief Minister Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan 2.0
On 18 October 2024, this scheme was launched by the Assam Chief Minister Shri Hemant Biswa Sarma in Guwahati to encourage youth to undertake enterprises in different sectors. The scheme will not only provide training and financial backing but also help young entrepreneurs to have easy access to the market system in the state. This is the second phase of the Chief Minister Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan 2.0 (CMAAA) that will pave the way for new enterprises, leading to the emerging young entrepreneurs in Assam.
Through this scheme, youth of the state would be supported with monetary assistance ranging from INR 2.00 lakhs to INR 5.00 lakhs for starting new enterprises. In the first phase of the scheme, the state government distributed benefits of INR 510 crores to about 25,238 young individuals. In the second phase, the scheme envisages to promote entrepreneurship among 1 lakh young individuals in the state. For the purpose, proper training and financial support will be imparted to all selected individuals.

Financial Assistance Under Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme
- Financial assistance as envisaged in the scheme ranges from INR 2.00 lakhs to INR 5.00 lakhs will be provided to all the selected youth for starting new enterprises in Assam.
- The loan repayment period will be 5 years, and no interest will be charged to the beneficiaries during the period.

- The applicant must have an active bank account in any scheduled commercial bank in Assam that should be opened before April 1, 2024.
