Aims and Objectives
Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan aims to support rural women in undertaking new enterprises. Financial Benefits and Coverage

- 1st Phase: In the first phase of the scheme, rural women beneficiaries will receive monetary support of INR 10,000. The amount will be granted to them for undertaking new income-generating activities. Women in rural self-help groups will be able to start an enterprise chosen from a curated list of 145 business plans as prepared by the Assam Government.
- 2nd Phase: Benefits of the second phase will be provided only to those who achieve the goals of the 1st phase and emerge successful in their efforts. Under the second phase of the MMUA, each eligible beneficiary would receive a financial boost of INR 12,500 as a bank loan. Besides, the government of Assam will also support them with a similar amount of INR 12,500 to each beneficiary. In total, an amount of 25,000 rupees will be provided to each beneficiary in the second phase of the scheme.
Eligibility Criteria for Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan
- The applicant must be a permanent citizen of Assam.
- The scheme applies to female citizens only.
- The applicant must be an active member in any self-help group.
- Women belonging to the general and OBC categories should have three children only to qualify for the scheme.
- Women from the SC and ST categories should have no more than four children.
- Moran, Motok, and ‘Tea Tribes’ women should have no more than four children to be eligible.
- The girl children of the applicant should be mandatorily enrolled in school.
- In case of non-enrolment of the girl child, an undertaking will be required to ensure future enrolment.
- Applicants are also required to ensure that the trees planted by them under Amrit Brikshya Andolan survive.
Exclusions
As per the eligibility criteria, all the applicants are to fulfil the conditions laid down by the state government, but it is estimated that about 5 lakh women will be excluded from the scheme due to not fulfiling the child cap criteria.

- The applicant must be an active member of the self-help group promoted under the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM).
- The applicant must have a valid and operational/active bank account in her name.
- The bank account must be Aadhar Seeded and DBT Enabled.
- The applicant should not be a defaulter of the SHG for which she is working or a Federation, Bank, Financial Institution, etc.
- Those women who availed of a loan from a microfinance institution before 2021 will not be considered defaulters.
