Launch of Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme Assam

The Pragyan Bharati Scooty Assistance Scheme has been launched to encourage female education in the state of Assam. Through this scheme, the government of Assam will provide scooter support to brilliant girl and boy students who obtain higher marks in the 12th examination. Scooters will be distributed under the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Assam. Girls securing 60% or more marks and boys securing 75% or more marks in the 12th grade examination will be provided with a scooty. The Pragyan Bharati Scooty Distribution Scheme is aimed at providing merit incentives to girls and boys at higher secondary levels of education. The main aim of this scheme is to bring about a sense of competitiveness among students and to encourage them to perform better in higher secondary education (10+2). This scheme will help provide better mobility to students after they perform efficiently in the 12th examination. Application Process for Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme

  • All the students who fulfil the eligibility and have scored the aspirated marks in the 12th examination can fill out the application form in their respective educational institutions.
  • For this purpose, students are required to get the application form from their respective institutions and fill out the same.
  • After filling out the application form, it is required to be accompanied by all the required documents and to be submitted to the principal.
  • The principal will take the necessary action and proceed with further steps.
  • Applicants found eligible for the scheme will be considered for scooty distribution.

Scooty Distribution Process

  • The list of students who score the minimum marks (that is, 60% for girls and 75% for boys) will be collected from the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, and the same will be uploaded to the Director of Higher Education Assam Official Portal.
  • The director of higher education will then notify a list of consignee principals who will ensure the distribution of scooters to eligible beneficiaries.
  • The consignee principals will then allot the appreciation certificates to eligible students in their respective educational institutions.
  • Next, the students are required to submit the appreciation certificate to the assigned dealer in their region.
  • Students need not pay any amount to the dealer for registration and insurance, as the same will be provided by the Assam Government.
  • After properly verifying the beneficiary details, the consignee principals will release the money to the concerned dealer, and then students can collect the scooter from the dealer.
  • In case of a student’s death, the legal guardian may or may not choose to collect the scooter.

Note: The beneficiaries of the Dr Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award under the Pragyan Bharati scheme shall not be eligible for the Nijut Moina Scheme. However, if any Girl beneficiary opts out of receiving the scooter, she will be eligible for the Nijut Moina Scheme.
