The scheme covers 500 students for financial benefits each year. Under the scheme, 350 students are selected from the higher secondary level, whereas from the higher education level, 150 students are selected.

The scheme provides a one-time financial support of INR 1.00 lakh to manage necessary expenditures related to maintenance, books, and fees while preparing for an eligible competitive examination. The government has reserved 30% seats for girl students for the scheme benefit. Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant should be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh.
  • General Category students who are in 12th (appearing) should have scored at least 75% in the 11th, whereas for SC, ST, OBC, IRDP, and BPL students, the score should be at least 65% in the 11th.
  • For 12 passed students, at least 75% in intermediate for the general category students and at least 65% for reserved category students is mandatory.
  • For graduate level, the general category students should have scored at least 50%, and reserved category students should have scored at least 45% in graduation.
  • The total family income of an applicant should not be more than 2.50 lakh per annum.
  • 350 students from the 10+2 level and 150 students from the graduate level will be qualified for the scheme benefit.
  • It will be mandatory for each selected candidate to attend all classes in the institution in which they have been admitted for preparations.
  • To ensure the participation of girl students, 30% of the total seats will be reserved for the female aspirants.
