Launch of Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana 2025
The state cabinet, under the chairmanship of chief minister Sukhvinder Sukhu, approved the Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana on August 25, 2024. The scheme envisages providing monthly monetary support to those parents who are socially and economically vulnerable. The scheme will offer direct financial assistance to disabled parents, widows, divorced women, single mothers, destitute women, and other socially and economically weak citizens to manage the education and nutrition of their children.
The Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Scheme will distribute a monthly assistance of INR 1000 to each eligible family. Financial assistance will be provided till the children become 18. After one attains the age of 18, he/she will receive education assistance for higher education from the government to manage tuition fees and maintenance fees such as hostel and mess charges.
