Financial Benefits

Each phase of the scheme provides the above amounts in a lump sum as one-time assistance. The Public Financial Management System (PFMS) transfers the benefit amount to the mother or father’s bank account.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The beneficiary family should be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
  • The income of the applicant family should not be more than INR 3,00,000 per annum from all sources.
  • The applicant family has adopted a family planning strategy with two children.
  • A maximum of 2 girl children can benefit from the Kanya Sumangala Yojana.
  • If a mother gives birth to twins from the second delivery the benefit will extend to the newly born girl child as the third child.
  • If a mother has a girl child from the first delivery and gives birth to twin girls from the second delivery the scheme benefits will be provided to all girl children in such a situation.

Pre-requisites

  • If the applicant is a father or mother the priority for bank details must be of the mother, but if the mother is not surviving, the father’s bank account will be considered.
  • If both the mother and father are deceased and the applicant is acting as a guardian, the guardian’s bank details will be required.
  • If the girl child is an adult then she can apply for the scheme benefits and her bank account details will be required.
  • If the applicant is a girl child (herself), she can only apply for Stage 6 of the Kanya Sumangala Scheme.
