Launch of Goa Bima Sakhi Yojana 2025

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant launched the Bima Sakhi Yojana in the state on 7 January 2025. The scheme is a part of the Swayampurna Goa 2.0 initiative that envisages women’s empowerment through employment opportunities. Through this scheme, the government has paved the way for thousands of female citizens to engage with India’s biggest insurance corporation and earn a livelihood through insurance sales. The scheme mandates a training programme to be undertaken by each applicant to hone skills and develop into a skilled workforce in LIC.

For the purpose of Goa Bima Sakhi Yojana, a three-year training will be imparted to the applicants and they will also receive a stipend during the training period. An amount of ₹7,000 per month in the first year, ₹6,000 per month in the second year and ₹5,000 per month in the third year is envisaged under the scheme. In total, the trainees will receive ₹2.16 lakh over three years of the training period.
