About the Bima Sakhi Yojana 2024
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Bima Sakhi Yojana from Panipat, Haryana, on December 9, 2024. The scheme envisages providing income and employment opportunities to women by working with the Life Insurance Corporation of India. Women from any background can submit their applications to undergo the 3-year training program and become a Bima Sakhi. All trainees of the Bima Sakhi Yojana will be supported with yearly stipends during the training period. It is estimated that each Bima Sakhi will earn an income of INR 15,000 per month by selling policies to customers. Initially, the scheme will select about 1,00,000 aspirants, which will extend to 3,000,000 in the future.
