The Uttar Pradesh government has designed this official scholarship portal to streamline students’ registration and online application process for both pre-matric and post-matric education. With the help of this portal, students from all backgrounds who fulfil the eligibility for a scholarship at either pre-matric level or post-matric level can proceed with applying for and renewing a scholarship from the comfort of their homes. The portal is designed and developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Lucknow, and jointly operated by the Social Welfare Department, Backward Class Welfare Department, Minorities Welfare Department and Tribal Development Department, Uttar Pradesh.
UP Scholarship Portal: Registration 2025
- For the purpose of registration students can initiate the task by visiting the official UP scholarship portal of the UP government at https://scholarship.up.gov.in/
- After they reach the home screen of the portal they should navigate to the Student option and then select Registration to proceed further.
- After you complete the above step a new page will open where you must click on eligible scholarship.
- The online registration form will appear on the screen in which you are required to fill out with the mandatory information and create a password for your account.
- Fill in the captcha code and click on the Generate OTP option which will sent an OTP to your mobile number which you have to enter in the given box and proceed next by clicking Submit.
- Your registration will complete and you should return to the home page for further proceeding.

- Registered students should visit the portal’s home page and click on the Fresh Login under the Student drop-down option.

- The applicant should have permanent residency in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
- The applicant should belong to the general, OBC, SC and ST categories to be eligible.
- Family Income Criteria:
- Not more than ₹2,50,000 per annum for general category students
- Not more than ₹2,00,000 per annum for OBC students
- Note more than ₹2,50,000 per annum for SC and ST students.
- If the income requirements are satisfied all of a parent’s children will be eligible.
- The age of the students should be 12 to 20 years for pre-matric scholarships.
- Scholarship Amount to be provided:
- General Category Students: ₹3,000/- annually
- OBC Students: ₹150/- per months (for max 10 months); ₹750/- per annum (residential students)
- SC/ST Component I: ₹3,500/- per annum (Day Students); ₹7,000/- per annum (residential students)
- SC/ST Component II: ₹3,500/- per annum (Day Students); ₹8,000/- per annum (residential students)

- To avail of a post-matric scholarship the students should satisfy the eligibility criteria and then apply for a scholarship.
- Being a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
- Eligibility extends to all category students including the general, SC, ST and OBC, provided that they fulfil the income criteria.
- General category students should have scored at least 60% in the intermediate and at least 55% in graduation.
